This delightful “Ladies Writing Set” was made by Waterman in England in 1946. The 512v model (as it is known) was made particularly for the smaller hand. It is in a finish called Grey Striated with gold fill trim and, as you will see from the photographs, it comes within its original cardboard presentation gift box. The set is in good condition with only minimum age wear. The fountain pen smooth medium nib states “Waterman’s 14ct. W-2A” and the crisp barrel inscription reads “Waterman’s Made in England 512V”. The cap has a very decorative broad gold fill band and a “Waterman’s” clip. The expel/repel pencil is also in working order with a Waterman’s clip, the same decorative gold fill band and a barrel inscription stating “Waterman’s Made in England”.  The combination of gold fill trim and grey striated finish is very pleasing. The fountain pen measures 108mm with cap on and 133mm with cap on barrel end. The pencil measures 111mm. The box comprises the base where the pen and pencil sit and the lid that has an attractive polka dot design. This fine writing set, in its original presentation box, is in very good condition with (as you will note from the montage) a few “scribble” marks to the inner left box panel and the minimum of age wear on the pencil. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge at checkout where you can also select your method of payment.

This stylish button filling vintage fountain pen was made by the Parker Pen Company, Canadian plant in the 1930’s. Called the “Moderne” it is fitted with a thin gold fill clip screw and gold fill trim on the cap clip and single cap band. It was available in a range of colours and designs, this particular example in autumnal colours is a mix of green and gold marbling. The Moderne is a small fountain pen measuring 112mm with cap on and 137mm with cap on barrel end. The barrel imprint states “Geo S. Parker – Fountain Pen – Made in Canada”. It is fitted with a Parker nib which states “Parker 14k England 10” which has a broad medium point. Condition is good with some age wear (it has been a well loved pen) and brassing to the gold fill trim but this is reflected in the price. An attractive vintage fountain pen suitable for everyday use. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may also choose your method of payment.

This Parker AF Duofold was made in England between 1948 and 1950. The AF refers to the Aluminium Filler system. It functions in the same way as the old button fill method but the “housing” and button is made of aluminium. The classic black and rolled gold trim makes for an attractive vintage fountain pen. The barrel imprint states “Parker Duofold – Made in England”.The cap carries the Parker Arrow clip with rolled gold crown trim and black tassie. The medium width rolled gold cap band has a chevron decoration. The nib states “Parker Duofold Pen 14K” and has a smooth medium point. Condition is good with minor age wear and some brassing to the trim. It measures 130mm with cap on and 155mm with cap on barrel end – so it is a good size and slightly chunky. This is a classic vintage fountain pen in an attractive finish from a respected manufacturer and it will be ideal as an everyday writer. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may select your method of payment.

This tiny nib box was made by a manufacturer called Hinks Wells & Co. in Birmingham around 1900. The Tennis Player is one of a sporting series which included Cricket, Cycling, Football and Boxing. It is in fair to good condition – fair because it is rusty on the back of the tin and good because the image of the Tennis Player is still clear on the front. It is a delightful piece of vintage writing equipment measuring only 45mm (1.5 inches) long by 15mm (half an inch) wide which I am sure will be of interest to collectors and sporting enthusiasts.

The Parker “61” was launched in the U.S.A.1956 and in 1964 in the U.K. with Parker proudly announcing its revolutionary filling system. The “61” with its stylish arrow inset into the pen nib shell, pointing the way to the nib, is quite distinctive and rather elegant. This particular example has a classic grey finish with lustraloy caps and the Parker grey “jewel” on the cap crown and barrel end. The matching Parker rotary pencil also carries the cap “jewel” and they come in the original Parker presentation box. The nib has a smooth medium point. The cap text states “Parker Made in England” and carries the Parker logo. The fountain pen measures 135mm with cap on and 144mm with cap on barrel end. The pencil measures 128mm. On unscrewing the barrel you will find the Parker capillary filling mechanism. This exposes the filler unit (illustrated in the montage) which is immersed in the ink bottle to draw the ink into the filler by capillary attraction. This means that the pen can be filled without immersing the nib end. Whilst at the time a number of owners found this filling method unsatisfactory in the longer term, it was simply because it depended upon the owner to use the pen on a regular basis, and refill it, so preventing ink drying in the capillary filler. Used correctly it is a reliable and clean filling method. The Parker “61” has a distinctive and elegant design and this set will sit well in a vintage fountain pen collection. They will also provide good service as everyday writers. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. You may choose your method of payment at checkout.

This vintage fountain pen  - the Parker 45 model - was launched in the U.S.A. in the 1960’s and proved to be a very popular economy pen. It was named after the famous Western pistol and was the first pen Parker issued which would take an ink cartridge. It subsequently became available in the U.K. and this example of the Parker 45 Harlequin has the very rare Red Shield pattern dating from 1981. The line was phased out in 1983. Whilst it will take Parker ink cartridges, this particular example also comes with the Parker squeezebox fill system fitted. The nib is made of steel and has a firm medium point. The text around the cap lip states “Parker Made in England U1”. It is a long slim and very stylish pen measuring 136mm with cap on and 147mm with cap on barrel end. Condition is good with minor age wear. It will serve well as an everyday writer and is also worth a place in a vintage fountain pen collection. It is an example of a Parker design that was difficult to produce, particularly in this colour and so only available for a short period. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may also select your method of payment.

The magnificent “51 Flighter” was introduced by Parker in the U.S.A. in 1949. This particular example whilst featuring the gold fill cap band which was subsequently dropped, is later with a nib date of 1958 – although this cannot be taken as a definitive dating mechanism. The cap and barrel with their gold fill trim are in a steel finish Parker termed “lustraloy” - visually aligning it to the aircraft that inspired its design. The advertising at its launch, which also stressed its dependability and durability stated: “The Flighter…a new Parker “51”. Here is a foretaste of the future – a smooth writing beauty fashioned in a modern mood. Beneath its silvery exterior, there’s the most advanced pen ever created…” . It carries a Parker 51 medium nib stating “14k Parker England 58” and it has Parker’s aerometric filling system. Often termed "squeezebox" it is a very simple method of filling the pen with ink by unscrewing the barrel to expose a metal shell covering the ink sac - just press the metal bar and release four times and this vintage pen is ready to use. This is a good size vintage fountain pen measuring 136mm with cap on and 150mm with cap on barrel end. Condition is also good with minor age wear and a slightly darker than usual cap crown “jewel”. The Parker “51” combines style with everyday reliability and this particular model is indeed a fine example of those qualities. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you are also able to select your payment method.

Here we have a Parker 51 Duo of fountain pen and ballpoint. Parker extended the “51”range to include Duo sets with the addition of the ballpoint in the UK around 1956. The sets were understandably very popular at the time. However, unusually this particular duo example in black with rolled gold cap was made in Argentina in the late 1950’s/early 60’s for the South American market. The aerometric (squeezebox) filler unit states “Parker Industria Argentina” with the Parker logo. The fine point nib states “Parker Octanium Industria Argentina”. The advantage of the Octanium nib is its resistance to wear and its strength. Thus it has a firm point which some prefer to a gold nib. The cap text on both fountain pen and ballpoint states “Industria Argentina” and the Parker logo. Both cap crowns carry a black tassie. The ballpoint takes modern Parker refills and has a blue medium refill in place. The fountain pen measures 139mm with cap on and 150mm with cap on barrel end. The ballpoint length is 127mm. Condition is good with very minor age wear. A classic Parker set to either add to a collection, present as a gift or to have for personal everyday use if you prefer a firm nib and a fine point. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you will also be able to select your payment method.

This vintage fountain pen and pencil set was made by Conway Stewart, in England around 1953. The pattern is called Green Hatch and the model, a No.60, was their flagship selling for 35 shillings until it was overtaken by the No.100 in 1954. As you will see from the photograph the fountain pen cap has one broad rolled gold band and the distinctive Conway diamond clip. The barrel carries the original Conway lever and a good imprint stating “Conway Stewart 60 – Made in England”. The nib fits the model stating “DURO Conway Stewart 14ct Gold 60” and has a smooth medium point. The matching expel/repel pencil is also in full working order and carries the Conway clip and two thin rolled gold bands. The text on the pencil reads “The Conway No.18 – Conway Stewart”. Replacement lead size is 1.18mm and Yard O Led will suffice. Condition on both items is very good with very minor age wear to the trim. They come in the original Conway gift box which is in good condition apart from a scuff mark on the lid top – as shown in the montage. The No.60 is a chunky pen measuring 127mm with cap on and 15mm with cap on barrel end. The pencil is 130mm long. A good example of Conway Stewart at their best, this attractive vintage pen and pencil set, in the original box, is suitable to either add to a collection or use as an everyday workhorse. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection will be carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order.

This lever filling vintage fountain pen was made in England by Conway Stewart. The model is No.475 and this example is unusual in that generally it has a single cap band whereas this is an example of the bandless version dating from around 1937. The jet black finish contrasts well with the rolled gold trim. It has the original Conway clip to the domed cap and the barrel has the original Conway lever. The main barrel text is a little worn but states “The Conway Pen – No.475” with the words “Made in England” lower down. The smooth medium point nib states “Conway Stewart 14ct Gold 3”. The 475 is a healthy size Conway measuring 128mm with cap on and 165mm with cap on barrel end. Apart from general minor age wear and some brassing to the trim, this vintage Conway is in good condition and will serve well as a classic Conway every day writer. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free on request at checkout where you may also select your method of payment.
