This lever filling vintage fountain pen with its 14 carat rolled gold overlay is typical of the elegant fountain pens of the mid 1920’s. The rolled gold is overlaid on a hard rubber base and engraved with lattice pattern panels. Gold and silver overlays were used on basic hard rubber pens to provide a more “quality” item for the discerning customer. This particular vintage pen is a clipless model. Around the cap lip is the text “guaranteed 14 carat rolled gold”. Surprisingly the nib is a Waterman with the text Waterman’s Ideal Canada 2”. It has a fine point putting down a thin but smooth line on the paper. Condition is good, with some brassing as is evident in the montage. The cap when placed on the end of the barrel for writing sits comfortably and provides a pleasing balance. It measures 127mm with cap on and 161mm with cap on barrel end. A long, slim vintage fountain pen suitable to use everyday if you prefer a fine nib or to add to a vintage fountain pen collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. This aerometric filling vintage fountain pen - the Parker “51”, was launched in England by Parker in the early 50’s. Its aerodynamic design has made it a classic and the plaudits it has received over the years both in terms of design and reliability are well deserved. It has been marketed as 51…the world’s most wanted pen”. This particular example has a Black body with a metal cap in a finish Parker termed “Lustraloy” with a thin band at the cap lip above which is the “Parker” branding. It comes with a smooth Parker 51 smooth medium to slightly broad point nib that states “585 14k Parker England ”. There is a ghost of text around the barrel but it is too feint to read. Condition of both pen and cap is fair to good with some general age wear as can be seen in the montage and marks on the cap where the clip has been loose and turned in the past. This is reflected in the price. What makes this particular example stand out is the smooth Parker 51 medium to slightly broad point nib. The aerometric filling system is often termed "squeezebox" and is a very simple method of filling the pen with ink by unscrewing the barrel to expose a metal shell covering the ink sac - just press the metal bar and release up to five times and this vintage pen is ready to use. It measures 138mm with cap on and 148mm with cap on barrel end. The Parker "51" was an outstandingly popular fountain pen in its day and it remains a stylish and extremely good “work horse” today. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may also select your method of payment.

This twist fill attractive vintage fountain pen seen as a variation on the “61”, was launched by Parker in 1969 and called the “65”. As you will see from the montage, instead of an arrow on the shell tip as you have with the “61”, the “65” has a distinctive open cropped nib which, it was felt, would offer more flexibility than the “61”.  It was available in a variety of finishes and this the Flighter de Luxe – with modern styling of brushed stainless steel with rolled gold trim and and sporting the grey Parker “jewel” on the cap crown and barrel end. All finishes were discontinued by 1983. It comes with a matching ballpoint that also has the Parker “jewel” on the cap crown. The fountain pen currently has a twistfill system but it will also take modern Parker ink cartridges and measures 132mm with cap on and 140mm with cap on barrel end. The nib states “Parker 14k 585” and has a smooth medium point nib. The ballpoint is in working order and has a new Parker refill fitted with blue ink. It is 127mm long. This vintage fountain pen and ballpoint set will serve very well as everyday writers but will also sit comfortably in a collection illustrating the middle ground of the Parker transition from “61” to “65” and then to the “75”. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and an alternative gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may select your method of payment.

This squeezebox fill iconic limited edition Parker 75 fountain pen was made in the U.S.A. in 1977 from brass rescued from the “RMS Queen Elizabeth” following a disastrous fire which sent her to the bottom of Hong Kong harbour. Only 5000 pens were made for worldwide distribution – this is number 1716/5000. Upon the ship’s launch in 1938 it was said to be the largest passenger liner the world would ever see. It was used during WWII to transport American troops and refitted as a luxury ocean liner in 1946. Thereafter it carried the world’s most interesting and influential people. It was felt that a fitting tribute to the demise of such a great liner would be the creation of a limited amount of Parker pens made from the brass rescued from the ship – and this is one. Each pen has a special wooden box together with a Certificate of Authenticity stating the limited edition number. This number is also carried on the cap lip with the text “Parker Made in U.S.A. 1716/5000”. As you will see from the montage the presentation wooden box carries a brass plaque setting out the liner’s history and the fountain pen barrel has a plaque stating “RMS Queen Elizabeth”. The nib states “Parker 14k Point U.S.A.” and has medium marked on the rear of the feed. This example of a much sought after late vintage fountain pen is in good condition with only minor age wear including some cosmetic wear to the box front clasp and some letters underneath the box clasp as illustrated in the montage. This is reflected in the price. There is no personalisation on the fountain pen itself. It is a good size and quite heavy vintage fountain pen measuring 128mm with cap on and 140mm with cap on barrel end. It can be used with bottle ink using the attached filler unit or with a Parker ink cartridge. A sought after Parker classic, it is suitable to add to a vintage fountain pen collection or to use as an everyday writer. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. You may choose your method of payment at checkout.

This squeezebox fill unusual and stylish late vintage fountain pen and ballpoint set was made by Parker in England. Both are date coded on the cap for  c1982 and they are reported to have been discontinued with the rest of the series in 1983. The model was termed the Parker “50” or Parker "Falcon". It followed the success of the original brushed steel Flighter version released in 1978. The nib is an integral part of the section and on its launch Parker advertised it as the second pen without a separate nib – the first being the quill. You will see that the ballpoint pen follows similar distinctive styling. The polished nib tip and ballpoint writing end are pleasantly offset by the overall matt brown metal finish and Parker arrow clip. They are of slim design with the pen measuring 130mm with cap on and 140mm with cap on barrel end, and the ballpoint 125mm. The fountain pen has a Parker aerometric filler system fitted (so you could use bottled ink) and it will also take current Parker ink cartridges. The ballpen has a new Parker refill in blue. Condition is very good as can be seen in the montage. With its sleek aerodynamic styling this late vintage fountain pen set is suitable to add to a collection or to use as every day writers if you like a smooth medium nib. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may also select your method of payment.

This lever filling vintage fountain pen was made by Waterman in England in the 1940’s. It is a "W5" with the classic styling of black body and cap and rolled gold trim of three decorative cap bands to the cap lip. The barrel text reads “Waterman’s Made in England W5”. The rolled gold clip also carries the Waterman branding. The nib is unusually a left oblique with a medium point. It reads Waterman’s 14ct W3”. Having tested it as a “right hander” I can verify it is very pleasing to use. It is a good size vintage pen measuring 128mm with cap on and 152mm with cap on barrel end. Condition is good with only minor age wear. A classic Waterman that will serve very well as an everyday writer. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. The rare lever filling Conway Stewart No.1209 was made in England in the early 1930’s. It carries two 18ct gold bands on the black barrel carrying the CS&Co. hallmark and the Conway diamond clip on the bandless cap. It has a large Conway nib with the text “DURO Conway Stewart 14ct Gold 40” which is the correct nib number for this model. It has a good barrel imprint that reads “The Conway Stewart No.1209” with “Made in England” around the bottom of the barrel. It is a good length measuring 128mm with cap on and 169mm with cap on barrel end. It is listed in the Conway 1932/1936 Price List as retailing at 25 Shillings – which puts it at almost the top of their range at the time. It is certainly a lovely vintage fountain pen, and the medium nib writes well. Whilst there is some minor age wear I would have expected to see a little more for its age, unless it is new old stock. It is a high quality model in very good condition and it deserves to be used as an everyday writer or as part of a Conway collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may select your method of payment.

This button filling Parker Junior Duofold vintage fountain pen was made in America around 1929 and is a classic Parker fountain pen of the period. It is a shortish but chunky pen measuring 116mm with cap on and 144mm with cap on barrel end. The barrel imprint states “Geo S. Parker Duofold – Made in U.S.A. Patented”. The Parker medium point nib states “Parker Pen – 14k N” and is a pleasing writer. The “N” on the nib stands for the UK Newhaven plant and so it is likely that the nib has been changed since the 1920’s. The cap has the Parker Duofold ball ended clip and two rolled gold cap bands. It is in good condition with some general age wear to barrel and cap. This vintage pen is a button filler – you undo the cap at the end of the barrel to reveal a button – depress the button and you deflate the sac – let go of the button and the ink fills the sac – easy. A good shortish chunky everyday writer -  a classic of the period and one that will also sit well in a vintage fountain pen collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge upon request at checkout where you can select your method of payment.

This squeezebox fill vintage fountain pen forms part of the Targa range - a very successful model produced by the Sheaffer Pen Company. The text around the cap lip reads “Sterling Silver Sheaffer USA”. As you will see from the montage there is some minor age wear and this is reflected in the price. The fountain pen is fitted with a Sheaffer squeezebox filling unit and it will also take a current Sheaffer ink cartridge. This attractive and stylish vintage fountain pen measures 135mm with cap on and 152mm with cap on barrel end. The Targa range is fast becoming highly collectable and, with its large range of finishes, is an interesting model to collect as well as a pleasure to use everyday. This aerometric filling Parker “51” with its gold filled overlay on cap and barrel, was made in the U.S.A. in 1950. Parker called it the “Signet” (the model was renamed in 1957 to Insignia following legal advice). Its aerodynamic design has made it a classic and it has been marketed as 51…the world’s most wanted pen”. The Parker 51 fine to medium point nib states “14k Parker England” so this has obviously been replaced over the years. Condition of both barrel and cap is good with only minor age wear and, in a good light, a very small ding is visible on the cap to the left of the clip. The cap carries the Parker arrow clip and has the Parker grey “jewel” in the cap crown and states “Parker 1/10 14k Gold Filled” around the cap lip. The barrel carries the text  “Made in U.S.A. 50.0”.  The aerometric filling system is often termed "squeezebox" and is a very simple method of filling the pen with ink by unscrewing the barrel to expose the steel sleeve filler covering the ink sac - just press the metal bar and release up to four times and this vintage pen is ready to use. It is a good size fountain pen measuring 135mm with cap on and 149mm with cap on barrel end. The Parker "51" was an outstandingly popular fountain pen in its day and remains a stylish and extremely good “workhorse” today. Representing Parker at its best, this is an excellent vintage fountain pen for adding to a vintage fountain pen collection or to use everyday. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may select your method of payment. There is some light reflection in the montage.
