This rare Parker Silver Pearl Vacumatic fountain pen was made for Parker in Denmark by the Christian Olsen Pen Company in Copenhagen using parts imported from Canada. They were the first distributors of Parker pens outside the U.S.A. The pen barrel bears the Olsen “anchor” logo with “C O” inside the surrounding ring – indicating an early model - and this example dates from around 1935. It is rare to find an Olsen barrel imprint. The Vacumatic was originally launched in the U.S.A. 1932 as the “Vacuum Filler”. It was advertised as holding 102% more ink than other pens available at the time. The barrel is used as the ink reservoir rather than an ink sac and this increases the ink capacity. Filled by a then new style vacuum pump mechanism on the barrel end, it was also advertised as “revolutionary in principle and perfectly marvellous in performance”. It became an accepted and reliable filling method that, in its later form, was used for the early Parker 51. This example has the early “lock down” filler. It was available in a number of colours including this, the Silver Pearl. It is a double jewel model meaning the cap crown and the barrel blind cap trim carry the same striped design as the cap and barrel. The trim was nickel or chrome. In this case I believe it is nickel. The cap carries the Parker arrow clip and three thin bands. Around the crown of the cap lip is the registration number imprint “784404”. The bold barrel imprint states “Parker Vacumatic” with the Olsen “anchor” logo underneath. The Parker two tone arrow nib states “Parker Vacumatic Reg.T.M. Made in Canada 3” which links with Olsen’s use of Canadian parts. The nib has a smooth medium point and is a slightly wet writer. I have listed it as in a fair to good condition. You will see from the montage that the cap rings have, in the main, lost their colour. The clip has signs of wear and the section has some minor marks. There is also the feint remains of personalization on the barrel which are visible using a loupe. Naturally it is priced accordingly. It is a good size vintage fountain pen measuring 127mm with cap on and 154mm with cap on barrel end. A Christian Olsen vacumatic is hard to find and this example, even in a fair to good condition, will sit well in a vintage fountain pen collection and will also serve as an everyday writer. All vintage fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you are also able to select your payment method.

This vintage fountain pen - the Parker “51”, was launched in England by Parker in the early 50’s. Its aerodynamic design has made it a classic and the plaudits it has received over the years both in terms of design and reliability are well deserved. It has been marketed as 51…the world’s most wanted pen”. This particular example has a Black body with a metal cap in a finish Parker termed “Lustraloy” with a thin band at the cap lip above which is the “Parker” branding. It comes with a smooth Parker 51 smooth medium to slightly broad point nib that states “585 14k Parker England ”. There is a ghost of text around the barrel but it is too feint to read. Condition of both pen and cap is fair to good with some general age wear as can be seen in the montage and marks on the cap where the clip has been loose and turned in the past. This is reflected in the price. What makes this particular example stand out is the smooth Parker 51 medium to slightly broad point nib. The aerometric filling system is often termed "squeezebox" and is a very simple method of filling the pen with ink by unscrewing the barrel to expose a metal shell covering the ink sac - just press the metal bar and release up to five times and this vintage pen is ready to use. It measures 138mm with cap on and 148mm with cap on barrel end. The Parker "51" was an outstandingly popular fountain pen in its day and it remains a stylish and extremely good “work horse” today. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may also select your method of payment.

The Parker “61” was launched in the UK in 1964. This particular example, the “61 Consort” with its rolled gold cap decorated with vertical and horizontal lines and a grey pearl “jewel” crown is one of the rarest in the “61” range and dates from 1967. It comes with a matching Parker 61 ballpoint and pencil. The elegant styling of the Parker "61" with its arrow pointing the way to the nib combined with the Parker grey pearl “jewel” in the cap crown of each item, creates a quite distinctive Parker design. The cap text on all items states “Parker Made in England 1/5 12ct rolled gold” and they carry the Parker logo. The nib has a smooth medium point. On unscrewing the fountain pen barrel you will find the Parker capillary filling mechanism. This is immersed in the ink to draw the ink into the filler by capillary attraction which is why it was advertised as "The pen that fills itself". This means that the pen can be filled without immersing the nib into the ink bottle. Whilst it depends on the owner to use and refill the pen on a regular basis (so preventing ink drying in the capillary filler), used correctly it is a reliable and clean filling method. Condition on all items is good - there is a minor ding on the cap of the ballpoint and some brassing as can be seen in the montage. The capillary filler has been used to fill the fountain pen for testing and it is in working order. The ballpoint has a new Parker blue refill and has a smooth cap activated system. The expel/repel pencil is also in working order and comes with a phial of replacement Parker leads. The replacement lead size is 0.92. The fountain pen measures 135mm with cap on and 142mm with cap on barrel end. The ballpoint is 128mm long, the pencil 127mm. The Parker “61” has a distinctive and elegant look and this trio of fountain pen, ballpoint and pencil will provide good service as everyday writers. With the addition of the Consort design being one of the rarest in the “61” range, and the capillary filling system, it will also sit well in a vintage fountain pen collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may also select your method of payment. A currency converter tool is there to assist if required.

This unusual and stylish late vintage fountain pen was made by Parker in the U.S.A. between 1978 and 1982. It was termed the Parker “50” or Parker "Falcon". The nib is an integral part of the section and on its launch Parker advertised it as the second pen without a separate nib – the first being the quill. Its sleek, elegant and futuristic styling is quite distinct. The polished nib tip is pleasantly offset by the overall brushed metal finish, gold plated section ring and Parker arrow clip. It is a slim pen measuring 130mm with cap on and 140mm with cap on barrel end. It has a Parker aerometric filler system fitted (so you may use bottled ink) and it will also take current Parker ink cartridges. Condition is very good as can be seen in the montage. With its sleek aerodynamic styling this late vintage fountain pen is suitable to add to a collection or to use as an every day writer if you like a smooth medium to slightly broad nib. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may also select your method of payment.

This exceptionally popular fountain pen range was launched by Parker in the USA in 1964 and, in its various finishes, was produced for the next thirty years. Parker called it the “75” following on from their usage of numbers to denote models which restarted with the “51”. This particular example was manufactured in the Parker factory in France in the early 1970’s and forms part of their “Place Vendôme” series. The “Ecossais” pattern on silver plate over brass has eleven grid bands on the cap. The model is often confused with the later issued “Prince de Galles” that has only seven. “Ecossais” is French for Scottish – and as you will see from the montage the pattern is similar to tartan. Around the lip of the cap are the words “Parker Made in France”,the Parker logo and the 30 microns mark – indicating an earlier model. You will note the ridged area between the nib and the barrel - this was designed to increase the writer’s grip. The smooth medium point nib states “France 750 Parker”.  The feed has “M” on the reverse. The section threads are plastic and the tassies flat. It is filled either by using the squeezebox filler unit as shown in the montage or by inserting a Parker ink cartridge (as usual with ink cartridges you will need to give the cartridge a squeeze once in position to start the ink flow). Condition is fair to good with some brassing as you will see in the montage and I have priced it accordingly. It measures 127mm with cap on and 142mm with cap on barrel end. A slim, elegant and, in this pattern, quite rare late vintage fountain pen in an attractive finish. It has a pleasing weight in the hand and a comforting click when replacing the cap on the barrel. It is suitable for everyday use or to add to a vintage fountain pen collection as a fair to good example of its type. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before dispatch. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you are also able to select your payment method.

This vintage fountain pen  - the Parker 45 model - was launched in the U.S.A. in the 1960’s and proved to be a very popular economy pen. It was named after the famous Western pistol and was the first pen Parker issued which would take an ink cartridge. It subsequently became available in the U.K. and this example of the Parker 45 Harlequin has the very rare Red Shield pattern dating from 1981. The line was phased out in 1983. Whilst it will take Parker ink cartridges, this particular example also comes with the Parker squeezebox fill system fitted. The nib is made of steel and has a firm medium point. The text around the cap lip states “Parker Made in England U1”. It is a long slim and very stylish pen measuring 136mm with cap on and 147mm with cap on barrel end. Condition is good with minor age wear. It will serve well as an everyday writer and is also worth a place in a vintage fountain pen collection. It is an example of a Parker design that was difficult to produce, particularly in this colour and so only available for a short period. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. This aerometric filling vintage fountain pen range was introduced by Parker in 1953 and, with its solid colour range and rolled gold trim, was well received. It sold well until the range was discontinued in 1962. This particular example, in a colour Parker termed simply “Green” dates from 1954 and is one of the larger models. It is a chunky and long vintage pen measuring 138mm with cap on and 155mm with cap on barrel end. The cap has the Parker single decorative chevron band and the Parker arrow clip. The barrel imprint has faded over the years but what can be seen states “Parker Duofold”. The good size medium to broad point nib is a slightly wet writer and states “Parker 14k England”. The filler unit is a very simple squeezebox method. This classic vintage fountain pen is in good condition with only minor age wear and is suitable for everyday use. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. This  Vacumatic fill Parker 51 is in a body colour Parker termed “Cordovan Brown”  which is a brown closely resembling the later aerometric 51colour of Burgundy. It carries a good clear two line imprint under the barrel clutch ring stating “Parker “51” Made in USA T7”. This dates it from 1947. The text around the Blue Diamond cap states “1/10 16k Gold Filled Made in USA” with Parker branding on the cap clip and the grey “jewel’ on the cap crown. The smooth medium to slightly broad nib is a replacement English nib and reads “585 14k Parker England”. The vacumatic pump fill system, with the barrel providing the ink reservoir, was very popular at the time and provides a clean and easy filling method. Condition is good with only minor age wear as can be seen in the montage and a tiny ding to the rear of the cap. It measures 136mm with cap on and 150mm with cap on barrel end. This is a good example of a fairly early Parker 51 in Cardovan Brown with the sought after Blue Diamond cap, and a medium to slightly broad nib. It will provide good service as an everyday writer and, given its quality, will also sit well in a Parker 51 collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. It has been marketed as 51…the world’s most wanted pen”. This particular version, rarer than most, has a body in Black and the sought after rolled silver cap with rolled gold clip.
