This aerometric filling Parker “51” with its gold filled overlay on cap and barrel, was made in the U.S.A. in 1950. Parker called it the “Signet” (the model was renamed in 1957 to Insignia following legal advice). Its aerodynamic design has made it a classic and it has been marketed as 51…the world’s most wanted pen”. The Parker 51 fine to medium point nib states “14k Parker England” so this has obviously been replaced over the years. Condition of both barrel and cap is good with only minor age wear and, in a good light, a very small ding is visible on the cap to the left of the clip. The cap carries the Parker arrow clip and has the Parker grey “jewel” in the cap crown and states “Parker 1/10 14k Gold Filled” around the cap lip. The barrel carries the text  “Made in U.S.A. 50.0”.  The aerometric filling system is often termed "squeezebox" and is a very simple method of filling the pen with ink by unscrewing the barrel to expose the steel sleeve filler covering the ink sac - just press the metal bar and release up to four times and this vintage pen is ready to use. It is a good size fountain pen measuring 135mm with cap on and 149mm with cap on barrel end. The Parker "51" was an outstandingly popular fountain pen in its day and remains a stylish and extremely good “workhorse” today. Representing Parker at its best, this is an excellent vintage fountain pen for adding to a vintage fountain pen collection or to use everyday. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may select your method of payment. There is some light reflection in the montage.

This vintage fountain pen - the Parker “51”, was launched in England by Parker in the early 50’s. Its aerodynamic design has made it a classic and the plaudits it has received over the years both in terms of design and reliability are well deserved. It has been marketed as 51…the world’s most wanted pen”. This particular example has a Black body with a metal cap in a finish Parker termed “Lustraloy” with a thin band at the cap lip above which is the “Parker” branding. It comes with a smooth Parker 51 smooth medium to slightly broad point nib that states “585 14k Parker England ”. There is a ghost of text around the barrel but it is too feint to read. Condition of both pen and cap is fair to good with some general age wear as can be seen in the montage and marks on the cap where the clip has been loose and turned in the past. This is reflected in the price. What makes this particular example stand out is the smooth Parker 51 medium to slightly broad point nib. The aerometric filling system is often termed "squeezebox" and is a very simple method of filling the pen with ink by unscrewing the barrel to expose a metal shell covering the ink sac - just press the metal bar and release up to five times and this vintage pen is ready to use. It measures 138mm with cap on and 148mm with cap on barrel end. The Parker "51" was an outstandingly popular fountain pen in its day and it remains a stylish and extremely good “work horse” today. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. Its aerodynamic design has made it a classic and the plaudits it has received over the years both in terms of design and reliability are well deserved. It has been marketed as 51…the world’s most wanted pen”. This particular version, rarer than most, has a grey body and the sought after rolled silver cap with rolled gold clip. This particular cap was introduced in 1952 and it is believed to have been produced only in England it carries the text “Parker R. Silver” this dates it as an early cap c1952. It comes with a smooth Parker 51 fine to medium point nib that states “585 14K Parker England”. The grey barrel (Parker called it Navy Grey) has a faint imprint of “Parker Made in England”. Condition of both pen and cap is good with some age wear to the rolled silver cap as can be seen in the montage. This vintage fountain pen with its 14 carat rolled gold overlay is typical of the elegant fountain pens of the mid 1920’s. The rolled gold is overlaid on a hard rubber base and engraved with lattice pattern panels. Gold and silver overlays were used on basic hard rubber pens to provide a more “quality” item for the discerning customer. This particular vintage pen is a clipless model. Around the cap lip is the text “guaranteed 14 carat rolled gold”. Surprisingly the nib is a Waterman with the text Waterman’s Ideal Canada 2”. It has a fine point putting down a thin but smooth line on the paper. Condition is good, with some brassing as is evident in the montage. The cap when placed on the end of the barrel for writing sits comfortably and provides a pleasing balance. It measures 127mm with cap on and 161mm with cap on barrel end. A long, slim vintage fountain pen suitable to use everyday if you prefer a fine nib or to add to a vintage fountain pen collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. This  Vacumatic fill Parker 51 is in a body colour Parker termed “Cordovan Brown”  which is a brown closely resembling the later aerometric 51colour of Burgundy. It carries a good clear two line imprint under the barrel clutch ring stating “Parker “51” Made in USA T7”. This dates it from 1947. The text around the Blue Diamond cap states “1/10 16k Gold Filled Made in USA” with Parker branding on the cap clip and the grey “jewel’ on the cap crown. The smooth medium to slightly broad nib is a replacement English nib and reads “585 14k Parker England”. The vacumatic pump fill system, with the barrel providing the ink reservoir, was very popular at the time and provides a clean and easy filling method. Condition is good with only minor age wear as can be seen in the montage and a tiny ding to the rear of the cap. It measures 136mm with cap on and 150mm with cap on barrel end. This is a good example of a fairly early Parker 51 in Cardovan Brown with the sought after Blue Diamond cap, and a medium to slightly broad nib. It will provide good service as an everyday writer and, given its quality, will also sit well in a Parker 51 collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may also select your method of payment.

The Parker “61” was launched in the UK in 1964. This particular example, the “61 Consort” with its rolled gold cap decorated with vertical and horizontal lines and a grey pearl “jewel” crown is one of the rarest in the “61” range and dates from 1967. It comes with a matching Parker 61 ballpoint and pencil. The elegant styling of the Parker "61" with its arrow pointing the way to the nib combined with the Parker grey pearl “jewel” in the cap crown of each item, creates a quite distinctive Parker design. The cap text on all items states “Parker Made in England 1/5 12ct rolled gold” and they carry the Parker logo. The nib has a smooth medium point. On unscrewing the fountain pen barrel you will find the Parker capillary filling mechanism. This is immersed in the ink to draw the ink into the filler by capillary attraction which is why it was advertised as "The pen that fills itself". This means that the pen can be filled without immersing the nib into the ink bottle. Whilst it depends on the owner to use and refill the pen on a regular basis (so preventing ink drying in the capillary filler), used correctly it is a reliable and clean filling method. Condition on all items is good - there is a minor ding on the cap of the ballpoint and some brassing as can be seen in the montage. The capillary filler has been used to fill the fountain pen for testing and it is in working order. The ballpoint has a new Parker blue refill and has a smooth cap activated system. The expel/repel pencil is also in working order and comes with a phial of replacement Parker leads. The replacement lead size is 0.92. The fountain pen measures 135mm with cap on and 142mm with cap on barrel end. The ballpoint is 128mm long, the pencil 127mm. The Parker “61” has a distinctive and elegant look and this trio of fountain pen, ballpoint and pencil will provide good service as everyday writers. With the addition of the Consort design being one of the rarest in the “61” range, and the capillary filling system, it will also sit well in a vintage fountain pen collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may also select your method of payment. A currency converter tool is there to assist if required.

This vintage fountain pen is one of the successful Targa range - a model produced by the Sheaffer Pen Company from 1976 to 1999. This is model 1004 – a sterling silver finish with a straight line pattern to barrel and cap. It is an early example with the Sheaffer crown imprinted on the cap lip. The cap lip also carries the text Sterling Silver Sheaffer U.S.A.” with a “925” mark. It is reported that this mark appeared only on items destined for France or England. It has the stylish Sheaffer 14k inlaid nib with a smooth medium point. As you would expect it has the Sheaffer “Lifetime” white dot on the clip and black inlaid ends to cap and barrel. The pull off/push on cap secures with a satisfying click. It has a squeezebox filling system fitted but you could use a Sheaffer ink cartridge if you prefer. Condition is good with some general age wear but nothing significant as you will see in the montage. It is quite a substantial pen in the hand and measures 135mm with cap on and 152mm with cap on barrel end. The Targa series, with its wide range of finishes, is an interesting model to collect as well as a pleasure to use everyday. This vintage fountain pen was made by Conway Stewart, in England, in the late 1930’s. The model, No.55, is a good size and sits well in the hand. The light and dark green marble colouring contrasts well with the rolled gold trim. The cap carries two thin and one thick rolled gold bands and sports the Conway arrow clip. The barrel states “The Conway Stewart No.55 – Made in England” and carries the Conway lever. The smooth Conway nib has a medium point and states “Duro Conway Stewart 14ct Gold 40”. Condition is fair to good with some age wear as you would expect from a well loved pen and this is reflected in the price. Chunkier than the 286 model, it measures 130mm with cap on and 156mm with cap on barrel end. This attractive vintage fountain pen will serve well as an everyday workhorse. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. This rolled gold bark effect finish vintage fountain pen was launched by Parker in September of 1979 and discontinued in 1982, so it is quite rare. It is a stylish and substantial pen and was positioned at the higher price end of the Parker range. The cap with its long arrow clip has no engraving around the lip. The rolled gold bark effect finish is also used on the cap crown and barrel base. The barrel has a smooth lozenge for personalisation. Around the lip of the barrel is the Parker logo and the words “Parker Made in England”. The 14ct nib has a smooth medium point. It is worth mentioning that a limited edition version was launched in 1981 to commemorate the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer. Condition is very good. It measures 132mm with cap on and 142mm with cap on barrel end. As usual with cartridge filling pens, when inserting a new cartridge, you will need to give the cartridge a squeeze initially to encourage the transfer of ink through to the feed. An unusual and quite rare vintage fountain pen from an excellent manufacturer. Suitable for everyday use or to add to a vintage fountain pen collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order.
