This vintage fountain pen  - the Parker 45 model - was launched in the U.S.A. in the 1960’s and proved to be a very popular economy pen. It was named after the famous Western pistol and was the first pen Parker issued which would take an ink cartridge. It subsequently became available in the U.K. and this example of the Parker 45 Harlequin has the very rare Red Shield pattern dating from 1981. The line was phased out in 1983. Whilst it will take Parker ink cartridges, this particular example also comes with the Parker squeezebox fill system fitted. The nib is made of steel and has a firm medium point. The text around the cap lip states “Parker Made in England U1”. It is a long slim and very stylish pen measuring 136mm with cap on and 147mm with cap on barrel end. Condition is good with minor age wear. It will serve well as an everyday writer and is also worth a place in a vintage fountain pen collection. It is an example of a Parker design that was difficult to produce, particularly in this colour and so only available for a short period. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may also select your method of payment.

This vintage pen is one of the successful Targa range - a model produced by the Sheaffer Pen Company from 1976 to 1999. This particular version dates from around 1990 and is the 2nd edition of 1083 with a quite rare finish in laque spiral black. The spiral (or cable twist) decoration, whilst being a little difficult to see here unless you enlarge the montage, is very striking and is offset by the smooth gold plated clip and cap top. You will note the thin cap band (the first edition had a wider cap band) is repeated near the bottom of the barrel. Around the cap are the words “Sheaffer U.S.A.”. It has the stylish Sheaffer 14ct gold inlaid nib with a medium to slightly broad point which states "Sheaffer U.S.A. 585 14k". Condition is very good with only minor age wear. As you would expect it has the Sheaffer "Lifetime" dot on the clip. Filling is by insertion of an ink cartridge, preferably Sheaffer but an international cartridge size will suffice. In common with other cartridge fill pens when first fitting a new cartridge you need to encourage the ink to flow through from the cartridge to the nib with a slight squeeze of the cartridge. It is quite a heavy, substantial pen in the hand and measures 137mm with cap on and 155mm with cap on end. The Targa range, with its large range of finishes, is an interesting model to collect as well as a pleasure to use everyday. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. A gift box is available free of charge on request.

This exceptionally popular fountain pen range was launched by Parker in the USA in 1964 and, in its various finishes, was produced for the next thirty years. Parker called it the “75” following on from their usage of numbers to denote models which restarted with the “51”. The design, a cross hatched pattern in sterling silver with gold plated trim, is called “Ciselé”. It is said that the finish was inspired by a cigarette case made by a London silversmith. Around the lip of the cap on both fountain pen and ballpoint are the words “Parker Made in U.S.A. Sterling Silver”. The cap crown and barrel end have a gold fill flat tassie. You will note the ridged area between the nib and the barrel which was designed to increase the writer’s grip. The advantage of the “75” nib unit is that the nib collar will rotate if you wish to move the nib to an alternative angle to suit your writing style– note the ruled lines and zero reference mark. This example comes with a smooth medium point nib that states “Parker 14k U.S.A. 66” The section threads are plastic. Filling is by the fitted squeezebox filler unit or by inserting a normal Parker ink cartridge (as usual with ink cartridges you will need to give the cartridge a squeeze once in position to start the ink flow). This attractive vintage fountain pen dating from around 1968, measures 128mm with cap on and 142mm with cap on barrel end. The matching cap activated ballpoint will take current standard Parker refills and measures 129mm. This is an excellent and stylish late vintage fountain pen and ballpoint in a classic Parker design with minor age wear as can be seen in the montage. Both items are a pleasing weight in the hand and fountain pen has a comforting click to the replacement of the cap on the barrel following use. They are suitable for everyday use or to add to a Parker vintage fountain pen collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may also select your method of payment.

This rolled gold bark effect finish vintage fountain pen was launched by Parker in September of 1979 and discontinued in 1982, so it is quite rare. It is a stylish and substantial pen and was positioned at the higher price end of the Parker range. The cap with its long arrow clip has no engraving around the lip. The rolled gold bark effect finish is also used on the cap crown and barrel base. The barrel has a smooth lozenge for personalisation. Around the lip of the barrel is the Parker logo and the words “Parker Made in England”. The 14ct nib has a smooth medium point. It is worth mentioning that a limited edition version was launched in 1981 to commemorate the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer. Condition is very good. It measures 132mm with cap on and 142mm with cap on barrel end. As usual with cartridge filling pens, when inserting a new cartridge, you will need to give the cartridge a squeeze initially to encourage the transfer of ink through to the feed. An unusual and quite rare vintage fountain pen from an excellent manufacturer. Suitable for everyday use or to add to a vintage fountain pen collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. This vintage pen was made by the English manufacturer Conway Stewart around 1950. This particular model has a light and dark green pearl finish and is an excellent example of the patterned pens issued by Conway at the time. The barrel imprint reads “The Conway Stewart No. 28” with  “Made in England” further down the barrel. The cap has a single thin cap band and the original CS diamond head clip. The filling lever carries the Conway branding. The nib states “Conway Stewart 14ct gold 5” and has a smooth medium point. The body is in good condition with only very minor age wear. It measures 129mm with cap on and 154mm with cap on barrel end. A chunky Conway that will sit well in a collection and is ideal to use everyday. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. This attractive vintage fountain pen seen as a variation on the “61”, was launched by Parker in 1969 and called the “65”. As you will see from the montage, instead of an arrow on the shell tip as you have with the “61”, the “65” has a distinctive open cropped nib which, it was felt, would offer more flexibility than the “61”.  It was available in a variety of finishes and this the Flighter de Luxe – with modern styling of brushed stainless steel with rolled gold trim and and sporting the grey Parker “jewel” on the cap crown and barrel end. All finishes were discontinued by 1983. It comes with a matching ballpoint that also has the Parker “jewel” on the cap crown. The fountain pen currently has a twistfill system but it will also take modern Parker ink cartridges and measures 132mm with cap on and 140mm with cap on barrel end. The nib states “Parker 14k 585” and has a smooth medium point nib. The ballpoint is in working order and has a new Parker refill fitted with blue ink. It is 127mm long. This vintage fountain pen and ballpoint set will serve very well as everyday writers but will also sit comfortably in a collection illustrating the middle ground of the Parker transition from “61” to “65” and then to the “75”. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and an alternative gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may select your method of payment.

This vintage fountain pen was made by Parker in the USA. It is the aerometric version of their Parker “51” that was launched in 1949 and included this quite rare colour termed Forest Green. (In the montage it simply looks Black as it is what we would call a Bottle Green and very dark.)However, this particular example has a combination of a nib with the text “Parker Made in USA RU-PL” (RU-PL stands for Ruthinium Plathenium and this dates the nib to around 1945), a chrome plated filler sleeve (dating it from around 1949) and a rolled gold cap with the text “Parker “51” Rolled Gold (meaning it is more likely to be an English cap) So what to make of it? Well nibs and caps are changed over the years so for approximate date I think we have to go by the filler sleeve and settle on c1949. This conflict of dates and origin is reflected in the price.  Dating aside the aerodynamic design of the "51" has made it a classic and the plaudits it has received over the years both in terms of design and reliability are well deserved. It has been marketed as 51…the world’s most wanted pen”. The “51” conical nib has a smooth medium to slightly broad point. The cap carries the Parker grey “jewel” in the cap crown and the Parker branding. The pen barrel carries no text or date code. Condition is good with some minor surface wear to the barrel. “51”’s are a good size fountain pen – this measuring 135mm with cap on and 149mm with cap on barrel end – and a pleasing weight and balance in the hand. The aerometric filling system is often termed "squeezebox" and is a very simple method of filling the pen with ink by unscrewing the barrel to expose a metal shell covering the ink sac - just press the metal bar and release up to five times and this vintage fountain pen is ready to use. Parker 51’s are an excellent every day workhorse and this is an interesting example of its type. They are also an ideal vintage fountain pen to start a collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you select your method of payment.

This large vintage fountain pen was made by Parker around 1958. It is a Parker Maxima Duofold and it is the largest pen in the very popular Duofold range of the period. The black body and cap highlights well the rolled gold cap trim. The barrel imprint reads “Parker Maxima Made in England” and the large nib carries the text “Parker England 50” - which is the correct nib number for this model. It has a medium to broad point. The aerometric filling method, sometimes called “squeezebox” is very simple to use. As mentioned, this is a substantial vintage fountain pen measuring 142mm with cap on and 165mm with cap on barrel end. Condition is good with only minor age wear. A good example of this, the largest and most expensive of the Parker Duofold everyday writers in the late 1950’s. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. This rare lever filling Waterman’s fountain pen with its Golden Brown Lizard pattern, was made in Canada between 1931-34. It is a full size model “92” measuring 126mm with cap on and 156mm with cap on barrel end. The barrel text reads “Waterman’s Fountain Pen Made in Canada”. The smooth fine to medium nib text reads “Waterman’s 14ct W-2A”. As you would expect the model number is on the base of the barrel. Condition is good with minor brassing to the trim. The cap carries the Waterman ball ended clip of the period and one single cap band with two further decorative bands on the pen barrel. A rare and attractive vintage fountain pen that reflects the style of the period. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. This rare Parker Silver Pearl Vacumatic fountain pen was made for Parker in Denmark by the Christian Olsen Pen Company in Copenhagen using parts imported from Canada. They were the first distributors of Parker pens outside the U.S.A. The pen barrel bears the Olsen “anchor” logo with “C O” inside the surrounding ring – indicating an early model - and this example dates from around 1935. It is rare to find an Olsen barrel imprint. The Vacumatic was originally launched in the U.S.A. 1932 as the “Vacuum Filler”. It was advertised as holding 102% more ink than other pens available at the time. The barrel is used as the ink reservoir rather than an ink sac and this increases the ink capacity. Filled by a then new style vacuum pump mechanism on the barrel end, it was also advertised as “revolutionary in principle and perfectly marvellous in performance”. It became an accepted and reliable filling method that, in its later form, was used for the early Parker 51. This example has the early “lock down” filler. It was available in a number of colours including this, the Silver Pearl. It is a double jewel model meaning the cap crown and the barrel blind cap trim carry the same striped design as the cap and barrel. The trim was nickel or chrome. In this case I believe it is nickel. The cap carries the Parker arrow clip and three thin bands. Around the crown of the cap lip is the registration number imprint “784404”. The bold barrel imprint states “Parker Vacumatic” with the Olsen “anchor” logo underneath. The Parker two tone arrow nib states “Parker Vacumatic Reg.T.M. Made in Canada 3” which links with Olsen’s use of Canadian parts. The nib has a smooth medium point and is a slightly wet writer. I have listed it as in a fair to good condition. You will see from the montage that the cap rings have, in the main, lost their colour. The clip has signs of wear and the section has some minor marks. There is also the feint remains of personalization on the barrel which are visible using a loupe. Naturally it is priced accordingly. It is a good size vintage fountain pen measuring 127mm with cap on and 154mm with cap on barrel end. A Christian Olsen vacumatic is hard to find and this example, even in a fair to good condition, will sit well in a vintage fountain pen collection and will also serve as an everyday writer. All vintage fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you are also able to select your payment method.
