This delightful lever filling Waterman sterling silver overlay vintage pen was made in America around 1930. The overlay pattern is termed "Basketweave". In common with the fashion at the time it has a ring on the top of the cap rather than a clip. It was designed to take a ribbon or chain through the cap ring, which enabled ladies to wear it around the neck or a gentleman to hang it from a watch chain. It has the Waterman branding on the lip of the pen cap. The model number 452½v is on the bottom of the barrel – it follows the Waterman numbering of 4 = sterling silver, 52½ = slender size and lever fill and “v” = short length. The Waterman "Ideal" lozenge is on the lever and the personalization lozenge is clear. Condition is good with some minor age wear and a couple of small dings at the bottom of the pen barrel where the cap sits when writing. The fine to medium point Waterman nib has some flex and it is a pleasure to use. It measures 95mm with cap on and 130mm with cap on barrel end. A short but exceptional vintage fountain pen suitable to either add to a collection or to use everyday. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you are also able to select your payment method.

This lever filling silver wedding vintage fountain pen follows a tradition dating back to the Roman times where husbands crowned their wives with a wreath made of silver on their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. Here we have the “modern day” equivalent of a Waterman sterling silver overlay fountain pen hallmarked London 1930. The inscription reads “RDW to MMW Aug.17th 1905-1930”. Given these dates, this pen (and its owner) must have seen some difficult, and some joyous, times. The sterling silver overlay is on a hard rubber base, as was the custom at the time. It is a long and elegant clipless model (measuring 170mm with cap on barrel end and 137mm with cap on) in an attractive pattern Waterman called “Line and Dot”. Impressed in the hard rubber area at the bottom of the barrel are the words “Waterman’s Reg.U.S. Pat.Off. Made in U.S.A.”. It was quite common for the hard rubber pens to be imported from the U.S.A. and overlaid by U.K. silversmiths following Waterman’s designs. The smooth medium Waterman nib states “Waterman’s 14ct England 2A”. This is therefore a replacement nib as often happens with pens of this age. Condition is good with some general age wear and, as you will see in the montage, some age variation in the colour of the hard rubber. This is reflected in the price. Its weight is 22grams. This attractive and elegant vintage fountain pen from a good “stable” is evocative of its era and a celebration of a long and happy union. It will serve well as an everyday writer and will also sit well in a vintage fountain pen collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced by Vintage Fountain Pens Inc. and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may select your method of payment. This aerometric filling Parker “51” with its gold filled overlay on cap and barrel, was made in the U.S.A. in 1950. Parker called it the “Signet” (the model was renamed in 1957 to Insignia following legal advice). Its aerodynamic design has made it a classic and it has been marketed as 51…the world’s most wanted pen”. The Parker 51 fine to medium point nib states “14k Parker England” so this has obviously been replaced over the years. Condition of both barrel and cap is good with only minor age wear and, in a good light, a very small ding is visible on the cap to the left of the clip. The cap carries the Parker arrow clip and has the Parker grey “jewel” in the cap crown and states “Parker 1/10 14k Gold Filled” around the cap lip. The barrel carries the text  “Made in U.S.A. 50.0”.  The aerometric filling system is often termed "squeezebox" and is a very simple method of filling the pen with ink by unscrewing the barrel to expose the steel sleeve filler covering the ink sac - just press the metal bar and release up to four times and this vintage pen is ready to use. It is a good size fountain pen measuring 135mm with cap on and 149mm with cap on barrel end. The Parker "51" was an outstandingly popular fountain pen in its day and remains a stylish and extremely good “workhorse” today. Representing Parker at its best, this is an excellent vintage fountain pen for adding to a vintage fountain pen collection or to use everyday. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may select your method of payment. There is some light reflection in the montage.

This squeezebox fill vintage fountain pen and ballpoint set - the Parker 45 was launched in the U.S.A. in the 1960’s and proved to be a very popular economy pen. It was named after the famous Western pistol and was the first pen Parker issued which would take an ink cartridge. The model subsequently became available in the U.K. and this example the Parker 45 Harlequin with its Grey Shield pattern carries a date code of 1980. The model was phased out in 1983. Whilst it will take Parker ink cartridges, this particular example also comes with the Parker squeezebox fill system fitted that allows you to also use bottle ink. The nib is made of steel and has a firm smooth medium point. The text around the cap lip states “Parker Made in England QL”. Interestingly it has a “Parker U.S.A.” squeezebox filler unit. It is a long slim and very stylish pen measuring 135mm with cap on and 145mm with cap on barrel end. Condition is very good. They will serve well everyday writers and are also worth a place in a vintage fountain pen collection as an example of Parker design that was only available for a short period. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you are also able to select your payment method.

This English button filling vintage fountain pen was made around 1946 by the Parker Pen factory, most likely at the old Valentine pen works at Newhaven. Parker, having taken over the Valentine Pen Co. to ensure UK Parker production, phased out Valentine pens and manufacturing concentrated on Parker production. This particular model is the Parker Victory and it was produced in colours similar to Parker’s successful Duofold range – in this instance the finish is the more rare light brown pearl and black marble. As you will see the rolled gold Parker ball ended clip was still in use at this time. It has a single thin cap band. The barrel imprint reads “Parker Victory - Reg T.M.”. It has a Parker nib with a smooth medium point, this states “Parker Pen 14k N”. It measures 129mm with cap on and 154mm with cap on barrel end. Condition is good with only minor age wear. This is a classic vintage Parker, in an attractive and more difficult to find finish. It will serve well as an everyday writer or to add to a vintage fountain pen collection as an example of its type. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. This lever filling vintage fountain pen with its 14 carat rolled gold overlay is typical of the elegant fountain pens of the mid 1920’s. The rolled gold is overlaid on a hard rubber base and engraved with lattice pattern panels. Gold and silver overlays were used on basic hard rubber pens to provide a more “quality” item for the discerning customer. This particular vintage pen is a clipless model. Around the cap lip is the text “guaranteed 14 carat rolled gold”. Surprisingly the nib is a Waterman with the text Waterman’s Ideal Canada 2”. It has a fine point putting down a thin but smooth line on the paper. Condition is good, with some brassing as is evident in the montage. The cap when placed on the end of the barrel for writing sits comfortably and provides a pleasing balance. It measures 127mm with cap on and 161mm with cap on barrel end. A long, slim vintage fountain pen suitable to use everyday if you prefer a fine nib or to add to a vintage fountain pen collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. This aerometric fill vintage fountain pen - the Parker “51”, was launched in England by Parker in the early 50’s. Its aerodynamic design has made it a classic and the plaudits it has received over the years both in terms of design and reliability are well deserved. It has been marketed as 51…the world’s most wanted pen”. This particular version, rarer than most, has a body in a colour Parker termed Teal Blue and the sought after rolled silver cap with rolled gold clip. This particular cap was introduced in 1952 and it is believed to have been produced only in England. It carries the text “Parker R. Silver” and this dates it as an early cap c1952. It comes with a smooth Parker 51 medium point nib that interestingly states “Parker England B.P. 1951” – so it is quite likely that this is the original nib at manufacture. Condition of both pen and cap is good with some age wear to the rolled silver cap as can be seen in the montage. The aerometric filling system is often termed "squeezebox" and is a very simple method of filling the pen with ink by unscrewing the barrel to expose a metal shell covering the ink sac - just press the metal bar and release up to five times and this vintage pen is ready to use. It measures 136mm with cap on and 151mm with cap on barrel end. The Parker "51" was an outstandingly popular fountain pen in its day and it remains a stylish and extremely good “work horse” today. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. This squeezebox fill vintage fountain pen is one of the successful Targa range - a model produced by the Sheaffer Pen Company from 1976 to 1999. This particular example, part of their Laque series is called Dark Green Vein. It is darker than the Green Ronce and has a light green vein running through the marble. It was available between 1978 and 1982. The Laque series was the first Targa to be assembled in the UK from parts made in the U.S.A. The laque is hand finished and polished to achieve a real depth of colour. The pen trim is 23ct gold electroplated and the stylish Sheaffer inlaid nib is 14ct gold with a fine to medium point. As you would expect it has the Sheaffer “Lifetime” white dot on the clip. The pull off/push on cap secures with a satisfying click. It has a squeezebox filling system fitted but you could use a Sheaffer ink cartridge if you prefer. Condition is very good with hardly any age wear. It is quite a substantial pen in the hand and measures 135mm with cap on and 155mm with cap on barrel end. The Targa series, with its wide range of finishes, is an interesting model to collect as well as a pleasure to use everyday. All fountain pens are professionally serviced by Vintage Fountain Pens Inc. and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. The rare lever filling Conway Stewart No.1209 was made in England in the early 1930’s. It carries two 18ct gold bands on the black barrel carrying the CS&Co. hallmark and the Conway diamond clip on the bandless cap. It has a large Conway nib with the text “DURO Conway Stewart 14ct Gold 40” which is the correct nib number for this model. It has a good barrel imprint that reads “The Conway Stewart No.1209” with “Made in England” around the bottom of the barrel. It is a good length measuring 128mm with cap on and 169mm with cap on barrel end. It is listed in the Conway 1932/1936 Price List as retailing at 25 Shillings – which puts it at almost the top of their range at the time. It is certainly a lovely vintage fountain pen, and the medium nib writes well. Whilst there is some minor age wear I would have expected to see a little more for its age, unless it is new old stock. It is a high quality model in very good condition and it deserves to be used as an everyday writer or as part of a Conway collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may select your method of payment.
