This delightful “Ladies Writing Set” was made by Waterman in England in 1946. The 512v model (as it is known) was made particularly for the smaller hand. It is in a finish called Grey Striated with gold fill trim and, as you will see from the photographs, it comes within its original cardboard presentation gift box. The set is in good condition with only minimum age wear. The fountain pen smooth medium nib states “Waterman’s 14ct. W-2A” and the crisp barrel inscription reads “Waterman’s Made in England 512V”. The cap has a very decorative broad gold fill band and a “Waterman’s” clip. The expel/repel pencil is also in working order with a Waterman’s clip, the same decorative gold fill band and a barrel inscription stating “Waterman’s Made in England”.  The combination of gold fill trim and grey striated finish is very pleasing. The fountain pen measures 108mm with cap on and 133mm with cap on barrel end. The pencil measures 111mm. The box comprises the base where the pen and pencil sit and the lid that has an attractive polka dot design. This fine writing set, in its original presentation box, is in very good condition with (as you will note from the montage) a few “scribble” marks to the inner left box panel and the minimum of age wear on the pencil. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge at checkout where you can also select your method of payment.

This vintage fountain pen was made by Parker in the USA. It is the aerometric version of their Parker “51” that was launched in 1949 and included this quite rare colour termed Forest Green. (In the montage it simply looks Black as it is what we would call a Bottle Green and very dark.)However, this particular example has a combination of a nib with the text “Parker Made in USA RU-PL” (RU-PL stands for Ruthinium Plathenium and this dates the nib to around 1945), a chrome plated filler sleeve (dating it from around 1949) and a rolled gold cap with the text “Parker “51” Rolled Gold (meaning it is more likely to be an English cap) So what to make of it? Well nibs and caps are changed over the years so for approximate date I think we have to go by the filler sleeve and settle on c1949. This conflict of dates and origin is reflected in the price.  Dating aside the aerodynamic design of the "51" has made it a classic and the plaudits it has received over the years both in terms of design and reliability are well deserved. It has been marketed as 51…the world’s most wanted pen”. The “51” conical nib has a smooth medium to slightly broad point. The cap carries the Parker grey “jewel” in the cap crown and the Parker branding. The pen barrel carries no text or date code. Condition is good with some minor surface wear to the barrel. “51”’s are a good size fountain pen – this measuring 135mm with cap on and 149mm with cap on barrel end – and a pleasing weight and balance in the hand. The aerometric filling system is often termed "squeezebox" and is a very simple method of filling the pen with ink by unscrewing the barrel to expose a metal shell covering the ink sac - just press the metal bar and release up to five times and this vintage fountain pen is ready to use. Parker 51’s are an excellent every day workhorse and this is an interesting example of its type. They are also an ideal vintage fountain pen to start a collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you select your method of payment.

This vintage pen was made by the English manufacturer Conway Stewart around 1950. This particular model has a light and dark green pearl finish and is an excellent example of the patterned pens issued by Conway at the time. The barrel imprint reads “The Conway Stewart No. 28” with  “Made in England” further down the barrel. The cap has a single thin cap band and the original CS diamond head clip. The filling lever carries the Conway branding. The nib states “Conway Stewart 14ct gold 5” and has a smooth medium point. The body is in good condition with only very minor age wear. It measures 129mm with cap on and 154mm with cap on barrel end. A chunky Conway that will sit well in a collection and is ideal to use everyday. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. This exceptionally popular fountain pen, part of a recently purchased collection, was launched by Parker in the USA in 1964 and, in its various finishes, was produced for the next thirty years. Parker called it the “75” following on from their usage of numbers to denote models which restarted with the “51”. This particular example was manufactured in the Parker factory in France and is in a pattern Parker called Grain d’Orge – or Fine Barley which is on gold plate over a brass base. It dates from c1983. Around the lip of the cap are the words “Parker Made in France LE” and the Parker logo. You will note the ridged area between the nib and the barrel which is designed to increase the writer’s grip. The nib states “Parker 75cm France”. The feed has “F” on the reverse denoting a fine point and this is in fact the case. The section threads are plastic and the top of the cap and end of the barrel are dished. It can be filled either by using the squeezebox fill that is in place or by inserting a Parker ink cartridge (as usual with ink cartridges you will need to give the cartridge a squeeze once in position to start the ink flow). Condition is very good with only minor age wear. It measures 127mm with cap on and 14mm with cap on barrel end. It is a pleasing weight in the hand and the cap has a comforting click when replacing it on the barrel. An attractive and substantial fountain pen it is suitable for everyday use, if you prefer a fine nib point, or to add to a vintage fountain pen collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. A gift box is available free of charge at checkout.

This unusual and stylish late vintage fountain pen was made by Parker in the U.S.A. between 1978 and 1982. It was termed the Parker “50” or Parker "Falcon". The nib is an integral part of the section and on its launch Parker advertised it as the second pen without a separate nib – the first being the quill. Its sleek, elegant and futuristic styling is quite distinct. The polished nib tip is pleasantly offset by the overall brushed metal finish, gold plated section ring and Parker arrow clip. It is a slim pen measuring 130mm with cap on and 140mm with cap on barrel end. It has a Parker aerometric filler system fitted (so you may use bottled ink) and it will also take current Parker ink cartridges. Condition is very good as can be seen in the montage. With its sleek aerodynamic styling this late vintage fountain pen is suitable to add to a collection or to use as an every day writer if you like a smooth medium to slightly broad nib. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may also select your method of payment.

This vintage fountain pen - the Parker “51”, was launched in England by Parker in the early 50’s. Its aerodynamic design has made it a classic and the plaudits it has received over the years both in terms of design and reliability are well deserved. It has been marketed as 51…the world’s most wanted pen”. This particular example has a Black body with a metal cap in a finish Parker termed “Lustraloy” with a thin band at the cap lip above which is the “Parker” branding. It comes with a smooth Parker 51 smooth medium to slightly broad point nib that states “585 14k Parker England ”. There is a ghost of text around the barrel but it is too feint to read. Condition of both pen and cap is fair to good with some general age wear as can be seen in the montage and marks on the cap where the clip has been loose and turned in the past. This is reflected in the price. What makes this particular example stand out is the smooth Parker 51 medium to slightly broad point nib. The aerometric filling system is often termed "squeezebox" and is a very simple method of filling the pen with ink by unscrewing the barrel to expose a metal shell covering the ink sac - just press the metal bar and release up to five times and this vintage pen is ready to use. It measures 138mm with cap on and 148mm with cap on barrel end. The Parker "51" was an outstandingly popular fountain pen in its day and it remains a stylish and extremely good “work horse” today. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may also select your method of payment.

This exceptionally popular fountain pen range was launched by Parker in the USA in 1964 and, in its various finishes, was produced for the next thirty years. Parker called it the “75” following on from their usage of numbers to denote models which restarted with the “51”. This particular example, dating from around 1966, is in a more difficult to find finish Parker called the Vermeil Ciselé. The sterling silver cross hatch pattern (said to be inspired by a cigarette case made by a London silversmith) is overlayed with gold fill providing a particularly attractive lustre. Around the lip of the cap are the wordsParker Made in U.S.A. Sterling & 14K G.F.”. The cap crown and barrel end have a gold fill flat tassie. You will note the ridged area between the nib and the barrel that was designed to increase the writer’s grip. The advantage of the “75” nib unit is that the nib collar will rotate if you wish to move the nib to an alternative angle to suit your writing style – note the ruled lines and zero reference mark. The striking “75” nib states “14k Parker USA” with a “F” mark on the feed at the rear, presumably to state a fine point nib. On test, it appears to me to have more of a medium line so I have listed as fine to medium. The section threads are plastic. It will take a standard Parker ink cartridge (as usual with ink cartridges you will need to give the cartridge a squeeze once in position to start the ink flow).

It comes with the original Parker 75 box. The green velvet interior is clean and from the good condition of the pen it seems to have been kept in the box over the years. The exterior of the box is in fair to good condition. It also has the original instruction leaflet. Unusually this includes the “adjusting tool” – normally lost over the years - to enable you to turn the nib left or right to adjust to your favoured writing angle without inking your fingers.  Condition of the pen is good with some brassing to cap and barrel tassie. The pen is a pleasing weight in the hand and has a comforting click to the replacement of the cap on the barrel following use. This stylish vintage fountain pen is a good size measuring 127mm with cap on and 138mm with cap on barrel end. It is a classic late vintage Parker in a rare to find finish in good condition with its original box, leaflet and nib adjusting tool.  It is suitable for everyday use or to add to a Parker vintage fountain pen collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Ink cartridge filling instructions are contained within the accompanying leaflet. It does not come with a squeezebox filler unit to enable bottle ink filling. A gift box is available free of charge on request if you would prefer this to the Parker box. Just request this at checkout where you may also select your method of payment.

Here we have a Parker 51 Duo of fountain pen and ballpoint. Parker extended the “51”range to include Duo sets with the addition of the ballpoint in the UK around 1956. The sets were understandably very popular at the time. However, unusually this particular duo example in black with rolled gold cap was made in Argentina in the late 1950’s/early 60’s for the South American market. The aerometric (squeezebox) filler unit states “Parker Industria Argentina” with the Parker logo. The fine point nib states “Parker Octanium Industria Argentina”. The advantage of the Octanium nib is its resistance to wear and its strength. Thus it has a firm point which some prefer to a gold nib. The cap text on both fountain pen and ballpoint states “Industria Argentina” and the Parker logo. Both cap crowns carry a black tassie. The ballpoint takes modern Parker refills and has a blue medium refill in place. The fountain pen measures 139mm with cap on and 150mm with cap on barrel end. The ballpoint length is 127mm. Condition is good with very minor age wear. A classic Parker set to either add to a collection, present as a gift or to have for personal everyday use if you prefer a firm nib and a fine point. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you will also be able to select your payment method.

This aerometric filling Parker “51” with its gold filled overlay on cap and barrel, was made in the U.S.A. in 1950. Parker called it the “Signet” (the model was renamed in 1957 to Insignia following legal advice). Its aerodynamic design has made it a classic and it has been marketed as 51…the world’s most wanted pen”. The Parker 51 fine to medium point nib states “14k Parker England” so this has obviously been replaced over the years. Condition of both barrel and cap is good with only minor age wear and, in a good light, a very small ding is visible on the cap to the left of the clip. The cap carries the Parker arrow clip and has the Parker grey “jewel” in the cap crown and states “Parker 1/10 14k Gold Filled” around the cap lip. The barrel carries the text  “Made in U.S.A. 50.0”.  The aerometric filling system is often termed "squeezebox" and is a very simple method of filling the pen with ink by unscrewing the barrel to expose the steel sleeve filler covering the ink sac - just press the metal bar and release up to four times and this vintage pen is ready to use. It is a good size fountain pen measuring 135mm with cap on and 149mm with cap on barrel end. The Parker "51" was an outstandingly popular fountain pen in its day and remains a stylish and extremely good “workhorse” today. Representing Parker at its best, this is an excellent vintage fountain pen for adding to a vintage fountain pen collection or to use everyday. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may select your method of payment. There is some light reflection in the montage.
