This substantial vintage fountain pen was made by Waterman and sold under the Asprey name in the late 1930’s. The heavy 9ct gold overlay on hard rubber has a smooth finish and, as you will see from the montage, carries a heraldic crest on the barrel. The cap has the ball ended clip of the period, the words “Asprey” Waterman’s Ideal Fountain Pen” around the cap lip and 9ct hallmarks on the cap and cap crown. The barrel is also well hallmarked combined with the usual Frank D Waterman initials and “Waterman’s” branding lower down. Condition is very good with only a minor ding on the cap crown. The filling lever also carries the Waterman’s logo. The medium point nib states “Waterman 14ct W-2A” and is a smooth writer and a pleasure to use. It weighs 34grams and measures 138mm with cap on and 175mm with cap on barrel end. So a quite heavy, long and elegant example of Waterman at their best combined with the Asprey reputation for high quality and exclusive design.  It will sit well in a vintage fountain pen collection but will serve equally well as an every day writer. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you are also able to select your payment method.

This delightful “Ladies Writing Set” was made by Waterman in England in 1946. The 512v model (as it is known) was made particularly for the smaller hand. It is in a finish called Grey Striated with gold fill trim and, as you will see from the photographs, it comes within its original cardboard presentation gift box. The set is in good condition with only minimum age wear. The fountain pen smooth medium nib states “Waterman’s 14ct. W-2A” and the crisp barrel inscription reads “Waterman’s Made in England 512V”. The cap has a very decorative broad gold fill band and a “Waterman’s” clip. The expel/repel pencil is also in working order with a Waterman’s clip, the same decorative gold fill band and a barrel inscription stating “Waterman’s Made in England”.  The combination of gold fill trim and grey striated finish is very pleasing. The fountain pen measures 108mm with cap on and 133mm with cap on barrel end. The pencil measures 111mm. The box comprises the base where the pen and pencil sit and the lid that has an attractive polka dot design. This fine writing set, in its original presentation box, is in very good condition with (as you will note from the montage) a few “scribble” marks to the inner left box panel and the minimum of age wear on the pencil. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order. A gift box is available free of charge at checkout where you can also select your method of payment.

This lever filling vintage fountain pen was made by Waterman in England in the 1940’s. It is a "W5" with the classic styling of black body and cap and rolled gold trim of three decorative cap bands to the cap lip. The barrel text reads “Waterman’s Made in England W5”. The rolled gold clip also carries the Waterman branding. The nib is unusually a left oblique with a medium point. It reads Waterman’s 14ct W3”. Having tested it as a “right hander” I can verify it is very pleasing to use. It is a good size vintage pen measuring 128mm with cap on and 152mm with cap on barrel end. Condition is good with only minor age wear. A classic Waterman that will serve very well as an everyday writer. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may also select your method of payment.
