Medium nib, Lever fill system.
This lever filling vintage fountain pen was made in America by Mabie Todd & Co, New York around 1925. It is a tiny gold fill overlay ring top with a star panel pattern that makes it sparkle. It measures only 82mm with cap on and 113mm with cap on barrel end. It was made, primarily, for the female market and would have either hung around the neck by a ribbon or chain, or be clipped inside a handbag. Pens of this design were also used by men, for example, to hang from a watch chain. It has a smooth medium point nib stating “Mabie Todd & Co. N.Y. 1”. The text around the bottom of the barrel reads “Swan Pen Mabie Todd & Co. New York Made in U.S.A.”. You will see from the montage that whilst there is some age wear to the gold fill it remains in good condition. The personalisation lozenge is clear. Because the pen is tiny the inner sac is also - so you will need to refill it more often than a larger fountain pen. A delightful vintage fountain pen from a quality manufacturer. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may also select your method of payment.
